Client-facing | Hybrid | Permanent | Technical consultancy offering market leading salary + ability to work on nationally critical projects!
Role:
Join this growing organisation as a solutions architect consultant and embark on a dynamic career where you’ll support a diverse portfolio of esteemed UK public sector and defence organisations. You will use your solution architecture skills to analyse and develop solution and technical architectures based on the needs of the customer, together with an understanding of the technologies, standards, patterns and operational processes required to achieve this.
Due to the nature of client-side work, some travel within the UK is expected. Around 2-3 days of your time will be spent working alongside clients at their respective sites – typically on long term projects located near to London or Bristol, otherwise working remotely. As you will work significantly on client site, you will deal directly with the client, liaising with stakeholders and assignment delivery.
Responsibilities:
As a consultant, either working independently or as part of a larger team, you will engage in various assignments, which include:
- Defining end-to-end solution architectures, encompassing business, information, applications, and infrastructure perspectives, and producing options assessments and design documents for formal governance approval.
- Defining solutions for large-scale IT projects, including specifying complex technical requirements and evaluating supplier responses.
- Supporting large ICT procurements by contributing to business cases, developing solution requirements and procurement documentation, and evaluating proposals.
- Providing technical assurance to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose.
Experience:
- Experience in defining and assuring solution architectures demonstrated through production of documentation such as solution overviews and high-level designs;
- Experience producing architecture documentation, such as options assessments, suitable to engage business stakeholders in both informal and formal governance settings;
- A flexible, consulting mindset. The fast-moving nature of the ICT environment, together with the need to resource multiple, ad-hoc assignments, requires our consultants to be quick thinkers, proactive and self-motivated and have the ability to apply a structured approach to often unfamiliar subject matter;
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
- Experience with architecture tooling such as BizzDesign, Archi and/or Sparx EA;
- Experience in one or more of DevSecOps and CI/CD technologies, cloud deployments, application design and delivery, integration design, testing.
Experience within the UK public sector is desirable, particularly in business areas, programmes, or projects that are directly linked to technology. Equally favoured is if you are intellectually agile, proactive, and self-motivated.
This role requires you to either hold or be eligible for UK security clearance.
In conjunction, you must have the right to work in the UK.
