The Role
You will be focused on the bigger picture as opposed to day to day, i.e. what should they be doing over the next 2-5 years from a strategy perspective, and you will be responsible for anything to do with operations efficiency. This could be where to spend cash as a business, e.g. doing a big assessment and understanding the best way to get products out to customers. Or you could look to downsize the number of suppliers or improve the rates; there’s a real commercial angle to everything they do.
It’s blue sky thinking but actually making it happen through tangible insight that won’t dramatically impact the day to day running of the business.
