The Role
This newly created vacancy will report directly into the Head of Insight and be responsible for owning the customer forecasting area.
It’s a highly independent role. You will be the expert in what factors affect how many orders they will receive and will maintain accurate forecasts for both short and long term; from half term being moved forwards by one week, to accounting for the fact that last March had unexpected snow. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the forecasting toolkit and regularly liaise with senior management, including Director of Marketing and Head of Planning Analytics, to help plan capacity and marketing strategies
Tools used within the role include: SQL, Tableau, Excel. There is flexibility to use other tools should there be commercial benefit, i.e. if it positively affects accuracy of forecasts.
The successful candidate is likely to have:
– Excellent proficiency with MS Excel, ideally having done Excel modelling.
– Experience of using past data to predict future performance.
– Excellent academic qualifications, within a STEM subject.
