Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data integration strategies to seamlessly ingest and transform data from diverse sources into our cutting-edge data warehouse.
- Elevate and scale our modern data stack architecture to support business growth and emerging technologies.
- Spearhead cloud optimisation strategies to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
- Deliver high-quality data products and services using an Agile methodology.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to exceed data expectations.
- Champion the adoption of generative AI and machine learning initiatives to drive innovation and insights.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in computer science, engineering, informatics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience successfully implementing data lakes and pipelines in cloud environments.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Coding Expertise: Exceptional proficiency in Python and another programming language, with a demonstrated track record of building applications from scratch.
- Innovation Driver: Experience in software application development, especially in Python and another language such as Golang.
- Cloud Proficiency: Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery and Snowflake, as well as BI reporting tools like Looker, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Data Governance Advocate: Experience in designing and implementing data governance and quality principles.
- Architectural Insight: Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
- SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL proficiency and the ability to optimise query performance.
- Technology Enthusiast: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Programming Diversity: Proficiency in Python and another language, such as Golang.
- Start-up Mindset: Ability to thrive in a start-up environment and contribute to key data architectural decisions.
