Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage data pipelines to ingest data from various sources into the company’s cutting-edge data warehouse.
- Design and implement scalable and innovative data stack architecture to support business growth and new technologies.
- Optimise cloud services usage and manage costs to maximise efficiency.
- Deliver high-quality data products and services using an Agile approach.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to meet and exceed data requirements.
- Contribute to emerging AI and machine learning initiatives to help the company make sense of the generative AI landscape.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in computer science, engineering, informatics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of industry experience, with a successful track record of implementing data lakes and pipelines in cloud environments.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coding Proficiency: Expertise in Python and another programming language, with a proven ability to build software applications from scratch.
- Innovation Driver: Experience in software application development, preferably in Python and another language like Golang.
- Cloud Familiarity: Experience with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery and Snowflake, as well as BI reporting tools like Looker, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Data Governance Advocate: Experience in designing and implementing data governance and quality initiatives.
- Architectural Insight: Strong knowledge of software architecture and design concepts.
- SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL proficiency and query performance tuning skills.
- Technology Enthusiast: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Programming Diversity: Proficiency in Python and another language like Golang.
- Start-up Mindset: Comfort working in a startup environment and contributing to strategic data architectural decisions.
- Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP.
