The Role
This is the perfect opportunity for a seasoned data engineer to take full ownership of the data engineering function in an incredibly vibrant and close knit organisation.
As the most senior member in this small but impactful data engineering team, you’ll be managing and mentoring 2 junior members and with support from the wider analytics team, you’ll have full autonomy to direct the function as you see fit. You’ll be improving the efficiency of their database, building rigorous data pipelines as well as guiding data strategy.
In essence, they’re looking for someone who loves the hands-on aspect but also wants the opportunity be a manager and pioneer the future needs and data development.
Required Criteria
- Extensive experience within the data space with a specialism in data engineering
- The knowledge and confidence to not only guide the data engineering function but also to guide strategy while mentoring junior members to further their personal and professional growth
- A genuine passion for leading others
- Technical expertise with industry recognised tools such as SQL, Python, R and Cloud tech with the confidence to be able to dictate which is most suitable to any given task/project
Nice to Haves
- A quantitative degree from a top university
- Previous line management experience
- Experience developing data strategy
- Consulting experience or experience managing external clients in a professional capacity
