Responsibilities:
As a lead data engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, as well as providing technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers.

Guide the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes

Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Develop and implement best practices for data quality, data security, and data privacy

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure high availability and performance

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers

Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve our data infrastructure
Requirements:
- An impressive academic record, ideally in a STEM or computer science discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- Strong experience in designing and developing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes
- Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly with services such as S3, Glue, and Lambda
- Strong understanding of data modelling and schema design
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong management and mentorship skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
