    Responsibilities:

    As a lead data engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, as well as providing technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers.
    • Guide the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes
    • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
    • Develop and implement best practices for data quality, data security, and data privacy
    • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure high availability and performance
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers
    • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve our data infrastructure

    Requirements:

    • An impressive academic record, ideally in a STEM or computer science discipline
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field
    • Strong experience in designing and developing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes
    • Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly with services such as S3, Glue, and Lambda
    • Strong understanding of data modelling and schema design
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong management and mentorship skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
