The Role
As a Cloud Architect, you’ll lead the design, governance, and evolution of Microsoft Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions across a complex, enterprise-scale environment. Working closely with engineering, security, DevOps, and product teams, you’ll help define cloud strategy and ensure scalable, secure, and future-ready architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Azure cloud architecture design and implementation across multiple business areas
- Define and maintain governance and security standards for PaaS platforms
- Collaborate with DevOps to enhance automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Advise stakeholders on best practices for scalability, resilience, and cost optimisation
- Identify opportunities to modernise infrastructure and improve efficiency
- Support continuous improvement and technical mentoring across teams
- Contribute to strategic planning and technology roadmaps
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proven experience designing and managing Azure PaaS environments
- Strong understanding of cloud governance, networking, and security best practices
- Proficiency in automation, scripting, and DevOps methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic thinker with hands-on technical ability
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in large, global organisations with complex infrastructure
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-premises integration
- Relevant Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
