The Role:
Join this growing organisation as a Junior DevOps Engineer and embark on a dynamic career where you’ll support a diverse portfolio of esteemed UK public sector and defence organisations with progressive routes into being a consultant.
Engineers play a pivotal role in furnishing clients with hands-on expertise to either introduce novel digital services or refine existing ones. The scope encompasses the entire spectrum of design and delivery. Leveraging the latest cloud and on-premises technologies, to configure and integrate diverse commercial, open-source, and bespoke products, alongside automating infrastructure and application provisioning.
Around 2-3 days of your time will be spent working alongside the client at their respective site in Bristol, otherwise working remotely. As you will work significantly on client site, you will deal directly with the client, liaising with stakeholders and assignment delivery, with further opportunities to develop your consulting skills in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and design tailored solutions
- Uphold best practice coding standards with a focus on security
- Work with cloud computing technologies like AWS or Azure
- Manage Windows Server and/or Unix-based operating systems
- Utilise version control software such as Git
- Exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills within a technical setting
- Building, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Use Infrastructure as code (IaC) or configuration as code (CaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes)
- Work in a software development lifecycle (SDLC) with methodologies (e.g., Agile, XP)
- Navigate modern data platform architectures, including containerisation
