    A mid-size financial services institution are now looking to undergo an extensive transformation as they build on the Data foundations built so far, in order to intergrate cutting-edge AI solutions in order to improve consumer experience. 

    With a large data team and significant investment underway with this transformational campaign this is an exciting time to join, not to mention they were recently named a national employer of choice!

     

    The Role

    We are seeking a skilled director of data quality to spearhead the establishment of a robust data quality management function within our client’s data function. 

    This role encompasses the creation and oversight of a comprehensive data quality strategy, focusing on the design and implementation of sustainable processes and tools for effective data quality management across the enterprise.

    Key responsibilities include developing an approach that enables centralized oversight of data quality metrics and controls while ensuring scalability in a federated analytics and reporting environment.

    The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with both data-producing and data-consuming teams to monitor and validate authoritative data sources, addressing and resolving any data-related concerns.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish a scalable data quality observation process across the enterprise, clearly defining roles and responsibilities for various participants within the data ecosystem.
    • Develop and execute data quality management processes for critical data, including profiling, measurement, defect management, root cause analysis, and resolution.
    • Create data quality metrics and reporting routines that align with organizational governance standards and data risk frameworks.
    • Manage relationships with senior data stakeholders to formulate, implement, and enhance data quality management procedures, focusing on continuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance.
    • Evaluate current data quality tool capabilities, identify gaps, and propose solutions based on industry best practices to drive implementation and adoption of the selected solutions.
    • Lead data quality resolution efforts and spearhead data improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with other departments to understand data challenges and identify effective solutions.
    • Foster a culture of awareness regarding data quality, enabling fit-for-purpose governance and proactive monitoring of data quality issues.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve or new tasks may be introduced at any time with or without notice.
    • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism, ethical conduct, and prioritizing the best interests of clients and the organization.

    The successful candidate will likely possess the following skills and experience: 

    • Significant experience implementing data quality programs – ideally in a regulated environment. 
    • Previous experience within financial services would be advantageous. 
    • You’ll be a strong communicator, able to effectively engage stakeholders across a business in order to drive change. 
    • Experience of running large scale transformational programs would also be highly advantageous.
