We’re currently seeking a talented Business Intelligence Engineer to join us in Luxembourg. This position is for a 9-month maternity cover. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise to craft solutions, including ETLs, Quicksight dashboards, R Shiny applications, and prototype Machine Learning applications for areas such as Business, Deals, Supply Chain, and Pricing.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, pays great attention to detail, and can work with diverse data sources, both structured and unstructured.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand Business Needs: Grasp business requirements, identify gaps, and assess automation opportunities within existing dashboards and reports.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and expectations, ensuring timely delivery.
Technical Solutions: Propose and evaluate technical solutions, review data design approaches, validate, and conduct code reviews following best practices.
Project Ownership: Independently lead projects, prioritize effectively, and build trust with stakeholders.
Data-Driven Insights: Drive the delivery of data, reporting, and insights to support data-backed decision-making, fostering clarity around business metrics for leadership.
Documentation: Clearly document your designs, outlining the rationale for solution decisions and trade-offs.
Essential Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in data analysis and interpretation using Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like Quicksight, or similar.
- Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Background in the data/BI space.
A Day in the Life:
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you’ll manage multiple BI projects across various domains, from business and pricing to deals and supply chains. Your day-to-day activities will involve meetings with stakeholders, collaborating with fellow BIEs, data design reviews, sprint prioritization, code reviews, and training and documentation efforts for project launches. You’ll also be responsible for monitoring and resolving issues with reports and data dependencies.
In the team, operational excellence is key. You’ll identify and propose solutions for quality issues, work on projects to enhance BI solutions, and use your expertise to engage in insightful discussions with customers, potentially influencing their future requirements. You’ll make informed trade-offs between your team’s investments and business needs.
