The Role
This newly created position within their constantly growing and agile data science team will be focused on delivering innovative, algorithmic solutions to complex problems.
You will work across all stages of the development life-cycle from idea generation to testing and implementation support. From pattern recognition in anonymous browser behaviour data to statistical modelling to understand the potential influence on booking behaviour, you will work on a project by project basis services different brands within the overall group. Machine learning and NLP are big focus areas within the team in their upcoming projects. Day to day technology is likely to be Python and Spark or Hadoop.
It’s an opportunity that offers the best of both worlds – working within a blue chip, highly reputable group function but in a team that offers a blank canvas for a commercially minded data scientist to come in and make their mark on the business.
Requirements
- An excellent academic track record.
- Strong technical skills in a range of technologies – R, Python, Hadoop, Spark.
- Understanding of web-cloud based analytics environments.
- An understanding of customer needs and commercial drivers.
