As a financial crime analyst, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding this institution against financial crimes such as fraud, money laundering, and other illicit activities. You will utilise your analytical skills, industry knowledge, and investigative abilities to identify and mitigate potential risks to their operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data, transactions, and patterns to detect suspicious activities and potential instances of financial crime.
- Utilise advanced tools and methodologies to perform investigations, assess risks, and develop strategies to prevent and mitigate financial crimes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance, risk management, and legal departments to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Produce detailed reports and presentations outlining findings, trends, and recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging threats in financial crimes, and integrate this knowledge into proactive prevention strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, criminal justice, or related field.
- Knowledge in financial crime analysis, AML investigations, or related roles within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, AML laws, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, financial software, and databases. Experience with AML software and case management systems preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
